Bodrum Suite series
2017 - OnGoing



The ever changing nature of the sea, sky and land in the coastal town of Bodrum in Turkey, provides the inspiration for the drawings featured in her Bodrum Suite series. The fluctuating color, light and rhythm of Bodrum days brings a spontaneity that is reflected in the gestural washes of watercolor as the backdrop of the work. Over this background she loosely traces various structural elements (tents, arcs, paint palette cut-outs) using colored pencil, gouache, archival markers and pens. Like a musical suite, each piece in the series delivers a distinct composition with its watercolor background and traced elements, while acting in unison with other pieces in evoking the spirit of Bodrum.
